Legal Advisor
Due to company growth, we are establishing an in-house Legal department and require a qualified Legal advisor with UAE insurance experience to take on this great challenge.
The successful candidate will deal with and manage correspondence with Regulatory and other Governmental Authorities in connection with the Company claims and legal disputes.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with Legal matters and representing Dubai Insurance by recommending or undertaking legal action arising from claims or other matters
- Appropriately advising management of legal action/ measures required in dealing with various disputes.
- Prepare and analyse contracts on behalf of the company
- Negotiate terms and legal stand on contracts issued by the company.
- Preparing cases for court by conducting investigations, undertaking research and giving notice of court proceedings
- Monitoring and liaising with External Legal Consultants/ Solicitors/ Lawyers who are representing the company
- Keeping management up to date regarding pending court cases arising out of claims or other issues on a regular basis
- Receiving and tracking changes to the various insurance laws, rules and regulations affecting the operations of the company in normal course of business
- Taking part in Board of Director meetings to advise on the legal stance of the company
Desired Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Law with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in handling commercial and civil disputes preferably with 3 to 5 years experience as Legal Advisor in the Insurance Sector.
The candidate should also have knowledge and expertise in Federal and Commercial Law, Sharia Law and an exposure to Civil and Criminal Law.
